The most notable ability Kurama has is plant manipulation. By feeding certain seeds and plants his demon energy, he is capable of accelerating its growth and change it entirely. His most used and perhaps infamous form of manipulation is when he brings forth his rosewhip. Other forms of manipulation include the attack Petals and Thorns, where rose petals surround him and attack as soon as an opponent comes within a certain range. He can also summon a handful of demon plants with his energy. Such plants include the Seed of the Death Plant, the Bloodsucking Plant, and the Sinning Tree. Along with growth acceleration, he can also control certain plants and use them to his advantage, as seen when he steals the key from Yanagisawa in the House of Four Dimensions.
Plant manipulation aside, however, Kurama is highly intelligent, and is able to effectively figure out any riddles his opponents might throw at him (as seen when he faces off with Kaito). He is even capable of devising a plan on the spot. Additionally, Kurama has a sharp eye, and is thus attentive to details. He uses this to his advantage in battles and studies his opponents in order to gain the upper hand. Unfortunately, his habit of doing so has more times than not left him critically wounded (particularly around his abdomen), so it’s a wonder if studying to learn about their fighting style is even worth it…
Other abilities that Kurama has includes having a strong sense of smell and the ability to read lips. He's also talented in remaining emotionless when faced with danger or threats, which lets him gain an upper hand on his opponents. He also has the patience of a saint, at least in comparison to the other three protagonists, so when the others panic or start to become annoyed, Kurama does what he can to keep his head cool so he can figure shit out.
